Default Idle is flickering...

Don't ask me why, this might be completely normal and I am just retarded, but ever since my full exhaust went in I am starting to notice a flickering idle. Like I said it may be just because I can actually hear the car and its a lot louder at idle now, so this may be normal and I am just noticing it now, but bare with me

When my car is idling it idles at about 1 grand. However every I would say 20 seconds the engine kicks into another mode almost, then for about 5 seconds it will idle at about 1400 and then go back to 1 grand and repeat the cycle while the car is idling. Then at points in time for instance when I let the clutch out and put it in nuetral at a stop light or something... Not ALL the time, but something, it like completely misfires like the engine is about to stall and then I start to hear the idle again. It sounds like when a car has cams, in between the looping, except I don't have cams, lol.

Let me know if Im retarded or if they might be something wrong...

I Don't think it's your AIC valve. If your idle is fluctuating it's most likely a bad TPS sensor. Check the voltage
bottom and midle should read .4-1.0 volts with ign. on but not started
top and middle sould read 4-5 volts with throttle wide open. Again don't start car just turn ign. on

it sounds like the TPS, or possibly even the MAF. I worked on a car that exibited similar symptoms and it ended up having a gaping hole in the intake tube

Could be TPS/IAC and maybe even the MAF, but very unlikely.

Since you mentioned it showed up after your LT/Mid-pipe install, did you use a tuner to shut off your MIL's or did you use MIL Eliminators? If you used MIL Eliminators like I did on my 02 GT, I'd put money on them failing very shortly and that would be the cause of your jumpy idle. Do your RPM's hang funny at all when driving or downshifting?

I'll never waste my time with MIL's again or an O/R mid-pipe again, just for those reasons.

idle in Nutral and Idle in gear are very different. My Auto idles at 900 in park and 600 in Gear. anthing other 1000 should be looked at.

If I was you, I would take it some where and have it looked at... The fact that you asked if you should clean you IAC with soap and water makes me believe that your mechanical ablities might not be up to par....
