what do you guys think of a 99 cobra?

what kind of horsepower did they make, and what rear end did they have stock?

My Cobra has quite a few mods... I LOVE IT! its a 99 as well

 

There was an issue with them.. I dont know exactly what it was, I believe it was in the heads, but it was causing the 99's to not put out nearly as much hp as advertised.. most got fixed though.

They have the IRS with 3.27's in the rear. They are rated 320hp at the crank, no idea what they are actualy putting to the ground though.

 

You can do a google search for '99 Cobra recall' and get all the info you need..

Ford claims the intake was **** poor and the exhaust was too restrictive.. Ford recalled and replaced the intake.

The exhaust though they didn't touch.. However, most owners repace it anyways so the 99 Cobra is pretty much fixed.. I read up on the problem prior to getting my 99 and found that the earlier models had the problem and produced less than the 320 HP Ford claimed.. However, the later models that year were producing the correct numbers.. Either way, as long as the intake was changed and you get a new exhaust your good to go..
