I was talking to one of my friends neighbor about my mustang and he told me about some parts to get for my car.I then told him that i was planning on getting 4.10 gears this weekend and he told to not get them because they will mess up my transmission.Is this true or just a bunch of bs?

If you have them installed by someone THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING 4.10's are the best thing for the buck, i had mine installed and the jackasses didnt shim them properly and they were put in too tight, im going back 2 weeks from today to get them fixed. If you can find a place that has done it before then go for it, but make sure they kno what the hell they are doing

 

i have 4.10's and as 2004blackgt said as long as they are put in right theres nothing wrong with them. they drop your 1/4 times aloot in relation to how much you spend on them. 4.10s are a great mod.

 

I didnt think it was true either just because i have never heard anyone say anything bad about the gears.

 

yea i wouldn't worry about it. just make sure whoever puts them in has done a number of axle rebuild's and has INSTALLED GEARS BEFORE. dont let some dip**** from God knows where go to ripping your car apart and charging you a shi*load of money to do it.
