Default 03 vs 05?

Besides the obvious appearance of the two cars whats the difference in performance between an 03-04 gt and an 05-06 gt mustang? Handling? 0-60?

What he said. They dont look nearly as good though imo. If you wanna get an old mustang then dont buy one that trys to look like the old and buy a real older one annd restore it. I dont really agree with ressurecting things that were so great.

And a tune because they are so sensitive to mods...

The 05+ mustangs are a whole new world... Different platform, new 3v motor, fly-by-wire throttle, a lot is different.

5.0 is an OHV motor, and only has 1 cam. where as the 4.6 is either SOHC(SINGLE Overhead Cam) or DOHC (dual overhead cams)
SOHC has 2 cams(1 per head) and DOHC has 4 (2 per head)

The '05 GT's usually run about 5.1-5.2 seconds 0-60 and around 13.5-13.8 at 102-104 mph in the Quarter-Mile. An '03 GT (5spd) should run about 5.4-5.5 seconds 0-60 and from 14.0-14.2 at 98-100 mph in the Quarter-Mile. As far as handling goes, its no contest: The '05 GT is clearly superior to the '03. On top of all that, the '05 is a huge leap forward in build quality and fit & finish. It's built at Ford's modern Flat Rock plant that, ironically, once built the Ford Probe, a car originally designed to replace the Mustang.

On the other hand, the '03 is about 200-250 lbs lighter, more aerodynamic and has a Computer that is far less picky about modifications to the engine than the '05's. In addition, the '03 is going to have superior reliability (the Mustang is actually one of the most reliable cars sold in America) and more speed parts available at the moment, though the '05 is generating aftermarket parts at an amazing pace...

As far as looks goes, Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder and all that. Personally, I think the 99-04 GT's are some of the best looking Mustangs ever made, and I love my '01 Bullitt. But everytime I see a black or burgundy '05 in person, I immediately want to sell my car and make the jump to the new models.

You can't go wrong either way...

^^^^ I totally agree. I love the way my 02 looks, but everytime i see a 05-06 GT drive by i sink down in the seat and wish i had his car! So i just keep adding mods to keep me in love with my car. That way i can beat up on a new mustang and feel better about my car!!! lol
