Default Steeda timing adjuster

Need some help, bought a Steeda timing adjuster for my 02 GT 4.6 off e-bay and could not get it to work. Took it to my local Mustang speed shop and they could not get it to work either. It kept tripping a mis fire in cylinder #5. The shop has previously installed 6 of these with no problem. We tried everthing from stock to 14 degrees of advance and it would not run right. The shop said it was a defective part, and they called steeda could not get it to run. The seller claims it worked fine and we did not know what we are doing. Is there any trick to these things or anybody ever have this problem? Is there any other way to advance timing, performance on these cars?

the only other way to mess with your timing without the adjuster is through a chip

I was on a roll, made some awesome buys off e-bay, really good deals. I only saved about $50, but got burned on this one I guess.

RJM, sorry to hear about your Ebay dismay. Can't Steeda replace it if it is defective?

Also, what shop do you use in your area???

Black Steed,Since I bought it second hand I dought it but I will try, I used CJ Pony Mustang on 22 in Harrisburg, they are pretty good, but expensive, labor is $55 hour. I only spent $110 and considering all the deals I have got on other things I am still way ahead, I just dont trust anybody any more.
