Default h-pipe

whats the difference between having an o/r h-pipe (or x-pipe) and just having a true h or x-pipe? more noise, more power, less power...?

O/R smells funny, is louder, and pollutes the air. Its basically an aftermarket midpipe just without the cats.

Yeah a normal aftermarket midpipe will have 2 cats in it. An O/R pipe completely eliminates all of the cats (illegal).

I don't understand what you mean by True H or X pipe... if you look at pics on any website such at mustang tuning or steeda, you will see some with cats and some without.. mid pipes without cats are called off road (o/r) they are illegal to run on the streets, but if you car is in a state that doesn't do emissions checks you should be fine unless a cop happens to look under your car and sees that there are no cats... I have o/r x pipes, my car is registered in NM so I don't have to get it checked.

i guess what i mean by "true h or x pipe" is just not an o/r h or x pipe. for lack of a better term i suppose? i was about an hour away from buying an o/r h pipe, and then i realized that i dont even know what the hell im buying, other than it making my car louder. and im from texas, and they definately do emissions checks here. but im safe if i just go with an h or x pipe that isnt o/r, ill still have cats yes?

Yes, look at the picture I posted. That is my Magnaflow Catted X-pipe the day I was about to install it.
