Don't forget your helmet. They don't say anything up at the line if I'm not wearing mine but they always ask to see it when they're inspecting the car.

I thought you had to wear a helmet if you ran a certain time below 13 or something

in the 1/8 mile you have to have a helmet with anything under a 9.0... my first pull they told me i better have a helmet on next time or im not running again.... i borrowed my friends helmet before i went cause i knew i would need it. just check the track rules and such.... go with a few buddies.. and have fun.

I don't have a helmet or know anybody that has one since I just moved here. I don't want to get a single run in before they restrict my participation for not having a helmet.

Should I consider investing in one before going to the track?

Do you plan on modding the car for quicker ET's or is this a one time thing? Safety is my first rule. Saw a mild 12 second car on its lid after it popped a freeze plug at the 1/8th mile. Food for thought

Gonna keep modding of course. Don't even know why I'm questioning a helmet, I know I'll need it eventually.

I just know they aren't giving them away, and would rather spend my money on something else if I can "get by" a couple times.

Wear jeans, most places have helmets you can rent as well. If it's your first time, make a day out of it. Try to get as many runs as it is, have fun its a blast. Don't be disapointed if your times aren't what you hope for, just keep practicing.

Bring Tire pressure gauge, you may want to lower tire pressue.

bring long pants. My advise is to let your car cool off 100% before you run. I always push my car to the pre line up as do many people.
