I have the mac colsd air, I probably would of gotten the JLT, I hear deshenger(sp)and K&N are prefered too.
Don't expect much of any hp feel gain, your exhaust tone will change.
If you get the fenderwell type cooler air is always better for the engine.
The MAF senses cooler air and adds more fuel thru the injectors.
I took out my passenger fog light for a little more cooler air flow.
Some say just take out the air silencer and add a K&N filter, but the chrome of the mac looks nice and the metal doesn't get hot with the fog light out. Maybe on a real hot day though.
I heard the ones on ebay, don't hold up too well over time.

alright so it could possibly be worth it. do the mac, jlt and k&n all have the connection for the maf? Is this something I shoudl make sure to look for? Sorry guys Im new to the whole mustang world, i was a long time dsm owner. lots of little things to do and know with those cars... and by the way I just got a catback slip lm II will that sound deeper or higher, you mentioned diff exhaust sound. going off topic but i wanna mod the car now. difference between h and x pipe? which to choose and also headers? I should have done all together with the slp catback but money was an issue 2 weeks ago, life's a bitch. Thanks guys. your always very helpful.

www.jlttruecoldair.com

GO with the JLT RAI or CAI. If you really want a new intake JLT is def the best IMO. K&N is just as good but it cost a little more and with the JLT you can get it painted to match the color of your car, or whatever color you want

chrome = heat
I've heard that alot, but I'm not so sure that I believe it. With the velocity with which the air is moving through the intake I really don't think it has time to soak up as much heat as people might think. Just my 2 cents though.
As far as the gains are concerned, you really won't feel much gain at all with a CAI as long as you have the restrictive stock exhaust. If the car can't exhale well, then it won't inhale well either. Changing to an X or H pipe with high flow cats and a better flowing catback will do wonders for you. Some equal length or longtube headers will help alot too, but make sure you find out what, if any, emissions laws your state has before you choose what kind of headers and midpipe you want.
As far as the LM II's are concerned, I've never heard anyone complain about them.
