Default DiabloSport Predator Handheld - Initial Thoughts

I received my DiabloSport Predator today and I had a chance to install a custom tune. My first thought are.. WOW! The difference is fairly noticeable. The car pulls quite a bit harder through the whole RPM range now. Most noticeable is the lower RPM range. The car feels so much more alive.

Since this is my first tune I only messed with a few parameters, mainly the timing advance. I did not see any setting for what octane fuel I was running, but I maxed out the timing anyway. Motor sounds smoother than ever. Dollar for dollar (BTW thanks VooDoo), this tuner is well worth it.

Hopefully, within the next few weeks I'm going to start messin with the A/F and other settings. I'm going to get a wideband O2 sensor/kit, Nitrous, and some 4.10 gears to play with.

Even if you are just planning on timing advance + Diablo tune, this is well worth it. More to come..

The book says at least 91, but there is no pinging with 87 octane so far.

Does anyone else have the timing maxed out with 87 octane?

What else can you do with it? Did you do shift firmness and crap like that? What about fuel curves?

I have a stick, but you can change the auto trans settings. You can modify, timing, trac control, rear end gear calibration, o2 sensors, a/f ratios, and other things. You can also log data and imput it to a computer to analize the data.

my car actually feels slower with the timing advanced... i dont get it. I have tried 93 and 87 in the tank. I have also played with different degrees of timing. Any ideas?

Did you advance the timing in the 4k-7k range or the 2k-4k range?

Do not run 87 octane fuel if you are using the performance tune. Just because you can not hear pre-detonation does not mean is isn't there, and if it is occurring 2V engines do not have knock sensors to prevent it from continuing.
