why do u want a 5 spd sp bad? auto's are more consistent (sp) for drag racing. plus makes daily driving 50 times easier.

good. I hate auto's. I feel like im not in total control when ii have the car shifting for me.

I dont know what all you will need, but you will prolly need to start with a transmission....

Im thinking of changing my 5 speed out for a 6 speed.

yah.. i just need to know what all new parts im gonna need. I know its gonna be like 3 grand, but it might be well worth it in the long run. I love the automatic, but the manual is quick without doin' anything...I have no idea what to do, i kill for a manual, but then again, i don't wanna be drivin' 30 miles through the city to go to the mall and be shifting from 1-2-3 constantly..

maybe get just 4.10's...shift kit..and a better torque converter?

i did something similar on a 4x4 01 dodge ram i got.
You would need,
piolt bearing, flywheel, clutch kit, throw out bearing and the fork it sets in, bell housing/trans, maybe a new drive, depends on overall length of the auto vs. manual, if you have a big wide brake pedal have to change it, put a clutch pedal in, and re-flash the pcm, the shifter boots, ***** etc.

oh yeah, forgot the clutch cable

damn I know what you mean, I have a 97gt auto and was thinking of converting it to a 5-speed but my response was that I should just sell my car and buy a mustang 5-speed. I drove a 96gt 5-speed the other day and it's just more fun, autos are lame[sm=lame.gif]. If only would I waited 2more months I could of gotten a 5speed[:@]

save your money and invest in a shift kit and a better torque converter. guarrentee you will blow a stock 5spd on pickup and go
