IRS? bad or good?
i was looking at trading my 02 Gt in for a 99 cobra, with about the same amount of miles. what is all this i keep hearing about the independ rear suspension and how they cant run hard from a dig. someone explain.
first off the irs is heavier. Second they are made for a road coarse and for comfort more than anything.
The reason they cant take the hard launches are the half shafts just weak. To make an IRS system strong you would need to replace the half shafts. and then they make a irs brace to help beef up the rear.
More than that I dont know. but should give some info to start with

well i dont know if im gonna buy the car its a beutiful Black Cobra with 40k on it, any problmes with this motor, leaking oil or other head problmes like the ones that plagued the 03/04 cobras?
The irs is a waste of extra money imo, I wish the cobra's didn't even have them. Although the exhaust does look really nice. Why else do you think cobra owners with big power want to swap out the irs for a gt solid axle??
