IRS is mainly made for driving that involves twisting and turning. A solid axle is great for straight line speed with the correct overall suspension setup.

first off the irs is heavier. Second they are made for a road coarse and for comfort more than anything.

The reason they cant take the hard launches are the half shafts just weak. To make an IRS system strong you would need to replace the half shafts. and then they make a irs brace to help beef up the rear.

More than that I dont know. but should give some info to start with

depends on if you are going to stick with the stock tires or going with a stickier/wider tire. If not you wouldnt have to beef anything up, i dont think

with wide rims sometimes you will hit the suspension if you have irs.

The irs is a waste of extra money imo, I wish the cobra's didn't even have them. Although the exhaust does look really nice. Why else do you think cobra owners with big power want to swap out the irs for a gt solid axle??
