Default Strip Differences

Last night I went to the strip. After lightening up my car by taking out everything not needed (spare tires) my times got worse. Before I was running consistant 14.5 on the stock motor. With better launches and 60ft times I was running consistant 14.8[:'(]. Could this have anything to do with running 93 octane originally and 87 last night????

Maybe it was hotter during the day, and you had cooler air last night. Tire pressure went up with the heat too? The only thing about lightening the car, is that you may not hook as well because of traction but thats it.

But I had better hookups and 60ft times. Minimal spin it just didn't feel like it had the same power down the track.

its the driver. the variables were not big enough to allow for any change in ET times

No. You shouldn't be using 93 anyway, unless you have the car tuned specifically for it or you've advanced the timing.

dif. in temp or humidity could have done it

there are so many dif. factors for drag racing its not even funny

as for difference in power, that was probably in your head

how much gas was in the tank each time?

remember.....gas weighs a TON
