2000 GT, Humms sometimes while im driving?
I have a 2000 GT, has about 35k miles on it, sometimes while i drive it, it begins to hummm ( the motor) until i step on the gas.. then it goes away, any idea's on what it might be ?
Need a much more detailed description before anyone can give you idea's..
Does it only happen at certain MPH/RPM, is your foot completely off the gas, does it just hum, does it shake or vibrate..etc etc

ok, lets see... Well It doesnt do it all the time, and when it starts doing it, it doesn't last very long, it will go back to normal and run fine. When it is acting up, it only hums when my foot is off the gas, whether i am stopped idle, or coasting. If i am coasting while it is humming and i put my foot on the gas slightly, it goes away until i take my foot off then sometimes it will come back. lets see, the noise sounds exactly like if you were to say **hummmmmmm**. I don't notice any difference in performance while its doing it. My foot will be completly off the gas when it does hum, all it does is humm, no shaking or vibrating. The humm sounds the same whether i am going 5, stopped, or going 80mph. When its humming and i get to my destination and put it in park, it will continue to hum until i turn off the ignition, then it immediately stops. thats all i can think to say right now, if you think of any more questions let me know.
nope, i hardly ever run my AC, this happened again today this morning on my way to work, Its probably 40-50 degree's out. AC is off, vent is off, it sounds like it is coming from the engine, can't be more specific right now, the next time it does it ill try and get out and look to see if i can tell where it is coming from.
Do you have your heat on? I know the heater fans can be noisy at times. I can hear the defrost fans in my car occasionally and it sounds like a hmmmm. Could be feed back through the speakers to from an electrical item.
Nope, nothign is on, i usually everything off, I don't know how well the ford dealership would be able to figure it out either, especially because it doesnt do it consistently, I think it used to start doing it when it was really cold in the mornings, but now it seems that it will do it in any temperature.
