Default Compression?

I'm building a forged shortblock, plan on doing some stage 2 heads/cams, and than spraying it. What compression should I be looking for, and What heads/cams combo do I need.

That depends if you're staying na or planning a s/c down the road and/or how much juice are you wanting to spray?

As far as heads and cams, VT engines, Livornis, and Patriot are the only heads I've heard of. Pricey, reworked factory pieces. Comp cams, crane, and VT engines all have cams and springs.

Looking to get my pi heads ported, they only have roughly 400 miles on them. Looking for a good cam setup to go with them. The shot, will probally be 125-150 shot. Will I need a custom grind cam setup to match the ported heads? I want this to be perfect. thanks guys.

VTengines.com does custom grinds I believe, but may have a stage 2 that will work with juice. Take a look in pipes, boost, & juice section and see what they have to say about compression.

Lower compression (8.0-8.5:1 compression) for FI and higher compression for nitrous. My motor was built for nitrous and I have 11.25:1 compression (5cc dished pistons).

Thanks guys. Hopefully i'm on the right track to building an all motor beast like yours code. Now on the intake. I can't see myself spending 1300 dollars on the p-51.. Is it worth it. Is there a cheaper alternative?

With a built bottom end, free flowing heads, nasty cams...the P51 is the intake to have and "YES" it's very much worth the $$. With my cams, heads and the P51, at 3500-3700 rpms, if I stand on it hard it's like a 75HP of nitrous all the way to 7800 rpms. The combination of the heads, cams and the ability of the bottom end to rev that high is just amazing.

I ran a nitrous motor before and this new motor (N/A) is simply AMAZING and pulls SO HARD all the way to redline. My peak HP is around 6500 rpms and it begins to flatline at 6700-6800 rpms and then starts falling at 7200 rpms. I couldn't be more happy with this set up.

After all of my research, planning and sticking to the plan, it has all payed off and if I had it to over again, I wouldn't change a thing. I get all excited when I think about how this motor is gonna perform once I put it on the juice. Just sitting here thinking about it make me all giddy

You have two new cars on the way, code. There is nothing stopping you from giggle gas now. You cannot resist the dark side.
