Yesterday I decided to change my oxygen senors because my gas mileage started to suck. I knew that a lot of guys had big troubles to change their headers. But I did not expect that the front sensors are so hard to get to. How in hell the people from Ford can place theses sensors at such bad place. Changing headers you do maybe what? every 10 years? But these oxygen sensors have a live time as short as 20'000 miles. It took me almost 2 hours to change the sensors and about 1 hour to plug them back in plus two busted nuckles and a lot of cursing. It did not really help that it was almost a 100 degree. I just have to say great job Ford. Also I finally installed the Transgo shift kit which was sitting on the shelf for quite some time. This thing makes a huge difference. What a nice shift it is now!

that shift kit made a world of difference didnt it. with the blower and the shift kit, is it breaking loose shifting 1->2 2->3

Yes with a little more half throttle the tires chirp pretty good from first to second and with full throttle it does the same from second to third. The installation was not to bad, Transgo has actually very good descriptions and they also send you a video (I did not watch it). Just make sure you position the shift selector correct (which I didn't at first) when you put it back together. But all in all good deal and a good mod. I like it. Unfortunatly I did not take any pictures and my instructions are full of trans oil so I can not scan them. But if anybody has some questions, feel free to ask.

 

12 years ago, i was fast and furious before there was such a thing and did a ton of work on my honda, i thought it was pretty easy to work on. Did an entire exhaust system, headers included in like 4-5 hours in my driveway. Now, you want to talk tough, try to get to those 4 bolts it takes to drop a beetle engine, damn krauts!

 

Hey I can actually help you with the 4 bolts. This is my kinda job and I deal with beetle engines all the time. By the way I drop bettle engine faster then I replace oxygen sensors on a Stang:-)

 

the engineers dont build the cars for the mechanics. that comes second after looks and easy assembly

 

i cant complain enough about the seatbeltsd in our cars

 

ya replacein the h pipe to x pipe was so hard with those oxygen sensors and bolts it took literlaly hours upon hours to finish the job
