I just bought a 2000 GT Convertible today and it ran fine. I came home and cleaned it up for about 3 or 4 hours. I had the Radio and the like on. I turned it on twice to keep the charge but forgot for about 2 hours, I went to start it up one last time before bed and it wont start. It does not give me the regular dead battery sound though, more like a grinding noise instead of the regular engine wont turn over sound. The power top and windows are VERY slow, so im leaning on battery, but the fact that its a grindind noise makes me unsure, the alternator belts are not moving. Any help would be great, thanks!

Sounds like a bad battery and/or dirty terminals, have it load tested at your local auto parts store, good luck.

Thank you, i will try to jump it. If I am wrong and its not the battery can I cause damage?
