Synchro problem???
Ok, I have a 02 GT with the 3650 trans and recently I have just begun grinding 3rd when power shifting. Granny shifting around town = no problems. It only happens when I'm accelerating hard. I think I might be getting into synchro problems. Could someone prove or disprove me. I also had some tell me that if I got a short throw (which has been on my list of things to do) that this would solve it. My 1-2 shifts are fine, no grinding and 3-4 is fine, just the 2-3 shift. Could some prove or disprove this. Not sure how much it would cost to have the trans fixed if it is a synchro problem. Also thought about getting a T-5 or even possibly a T-56 if the fix is expensive. Does anybody know about prices associated with these questions and where some good places to order a new trans. I have all the necessary resources to do it myself. I know this is kinda long and I hope it makes sense (long day at work already). Any help is appreciated.
a synchro by its self will be about 250. of course there will be tranny oil, and any bearing and pins that have to be replaced when you do it.
if you have someone fix it, take the tranny out and then take it in. would cost less. did my own tranny work on the t45 so dont know what the cost exactly would be. maybe about 200.

t5 is from the 5.0's and would have to have a different bell housing and I dont know if there is one to make it fit on the 4.6, but not sure
