Default headers....

Anyone know instructions or where i could find some to install l/t's? On a scale of 1-10 how hard is it and can anyone give me any personal advice? I know they are pretty hard, but im willing to do it to save the 500 bucks i would have to spend on the install. Thanks.

headers on a 4.6 is tough, you basically have to pull the engine or drop the K-Member, and a 4.6 does not respond to headers like a 5.0 does

my 4.6 responded exelenent. just think if your gunna start building up power you will get more exhaust gasses. look at your stock exhaust manifolds and look at long tubes. with long tubes each port has its own 2 or 3 foot tube to use for the gasses with the manifold each port has to cram its gasses into the same manifold. there for it doesnt flow better.

for the install. you will have to drop the motor mounts. just unbolt the one on the driverside and on the passangerside you have to take it completly off. and you will take out the 3 bolts holding the ac compressor on. so you can drop that and it will be easyer to get to the starter. so in short on the passanger side you need to take the motor mount off starter and drop the ac compressor. for the botom of the motor. on the top all you need to take off is the intake. oh and on the driver side you need a 1 1/16" wrench for the egr vavlve. just give your self 3 days and it is worth saving the 500 dollars. so when you go to a show you can have the self gratification (sp) of saying you did it yourself.

good luck and have fun

Definatly the biggest pain in the arsch that I have ever encountered. I'd give it a 9 or a 10, especially if you don't have a lift of some kind.

the 4v does....but he has the 2v GT[&o]

yeah, to put in those headers is gonna rank about an 8.5 id'e say on a 1-10 scale....its pretty difficult.

Its crazy because after your all said and done.... It really only comes down to gaskets, bolts, and pretty much your done. Just the process of getting to them is hard. And your pissed off after a few months because no matter what, they rust on ya! I hate it! THis will be my 3rd set of headers so far!

Not just the looks...

The Ceramic helps you out by helping the metal resist warping or cracking, and increases the longevity of the header's life.. Screw what they look like

Don't forget to re-torque them after you drive it for a day or so...
