Default Mac longtubes. Any good?

I was considering getting a set of these mainly because of the price. I am saving for a supercharger so brands like jba or hooker are too expensive at the moment. Does anyone have any input on these? Thanks fellas![sm=smiley20.gif]

I have MAC lontubes and I love 'em. The only thing I had a problem with was part of the header on the passenger side was hitting on the starter so I was'nt able to tighten the starter down, but that can be fixed by getting a mini starter. They are about $139.00. Unfortunately I did'nt have one so we heated that part with a torch and put a little indent in it to clear the starter so it could be tightened. Not very big at all. I have a convertable so I do not know if that makes a difference on the fit. Overall, I think for the price the fitament is good. Have'nt dynoed yet to see the gains. Here is my vid I made with a complete MAC setup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-HVEuKoi7s

i always thought MACs were kind of bad...but i called a Mustang speed shop around here...and he told me that the last few cars that have come through...BBK headers have actually been giving him more problems than MAC...and that he would probably rather work with MAC. that was music to my ears...MACs will save me a couple of hundred bucks probably over the BBK. i personally cant wait for my LT, O/R H, Bassani Catback setup. im giddy just thinking about it lol.

Do a search here and other forums Mac LT's have a oil consumption problem. Trust me I know. I installed mine and I was burning oil like I had a hole in the block. 4qts in 1000 miles. I had to go back to Iraq so I havent had a chance to tear the engine apart and see whats going on. I dont plan to get rid of my headers because they sound great and really added alot of power. Fitment was great also. Not all the mac LT's do this so you are just rolling the dice when you order them. When I get home in Sept and tear it apart I will post what I find out. I hope it is just bad valve seals from sitting for 8 months and nothing the headers did.
