Default Shift Kit??

I have an automatic transmission. i was thinking about getting a shift kit. But i heard they shift like a brick real rough if you are not wide open throttle. Is this true? also what kit is best for street and what brand and price? i am also getting 4.10 gears

Shift kits shift the same whether WOT or Part throttle. The thing is, you don't think of the way it shifts when you're gunning it, versus trying to cruise in comfort and your head gets whipped a little.. I love it...

I like the fact that it shifts like I beat it.. Instant engagement is awesome... If you want to cruise around w/ your girlfriend, and she's a bit fussy, this may not be the right choice for you... However, if you're serious about the performance of what you've got, then do it...

i hope i like it when i get it in the car. i get mine installed a week from monday. i was going to do it myself, but the shop said they were going to only charge 150 for it, so i'll let them do it. The guy whose doing it knows what he's doing, and i'd rather pay just a little to have it done right than me attempt and not know what the hell i'm doing

Trust me when I say this, I am very picky when it comes to the performance of my car, and because it makes me feel so much more connected, especially when using an Auto, it really completes the package.. It's like going from a standard length shifter, to a short throw shifter on a 5-spd. You always hear about it, and think of what good it might do, until you install it, and it's like a hot knife through butter...

If you like absolute comfort, and wouldn't like a little jarring, wheel-spinning when you shift gears, a shift-kit is NOT for you.. Good advice, get a Cadillac for comfort...

i've got a trans-go shiftkit, and a cooler, and i love, it was a big improvement, and shifts aren't that bad while cruising, harder than stock but not whiplash!

when you installed it, did you go for the hardest shift or the middle one because i don't want to mess up my car. it says for the hardest shift that a high stall converter is recommended so i didn't know if i should do that or not, but i want a firm shift and i'm afriad the middle one might not be enough

i think we did the heavy duty one, and the cooler, you have to get a cooler, or it will fry your tranny, i've had it for about 20,000 mile, no prob at all
