The color of your car does play into insurance prices. Historically red and orange cars are higher on ins. rates. I would go to progressive.com and check their rates because they will show a lot of different companies. Then I would go to geico.com and get a quote from them. That's what I did to get the best rate.

do you guys think the color of your car plays any factor in your insurance?
If you're going with State Farm the color will be a price factor. My first car and insurance company was the '69 Charger and State Farm, respectively. When the agent came out to look at the car he goes," God damn it-did you have to get it in orange?" He then told me that colors are a factor that most companies consider when writing out policies, as statistically police units tend to pick on more higher visibility cars, people vandalize them, etc...

I had State Farm when I was 18 and I was on parents policy, they've been with State Farm for probably 30+ years and they pay $95 a month for full coverage on a 2006 Dodge Ram w/Hemi and a 2001 Dodge Dakota with a v8. When they added me and my car, my car was an Oldsmobile Alero, 2003, 4dr, 4 cylinder, my *** was paying $230 a month for full coverage, then when I got the Stang I got quoted for $175 a month with Geico, State Farm was gonna charge me about $300 a month. So I switched to Geico with my wife, well g/f at the time of this happening, but the wife now.

I am 29, I live in Sacramento Ca and currently pay 155/Mo for full coverage on a 04 GT. This is with Progessive. When I bought the car I had 21st century. They quoted me at 320/mo, which is silly clown rape, plain and simple. Sacramento has crazy high rates for insurance. My buddy who is 23, with three tix pays less than I do for full coverage on a 97 cobra, only because he lives outside of Sacramento County.

What the hell are you doing owning a mustang GT if you can afford 666~ bucks a month in insuranace alone?

BTW, I pay right around 1000 every 6 months for my G/fs 2002 GMC sierra, my 00 GT, and my 96 Prizim, all full coverage. Nothing better than putting your G/F on your insurance and getting that multi car discount along with the homeowners insurance discount.

Hey, I was wondering if there were a way to not get full coveage but still get something that protects your car.

Like, right now I have no fault but Im kinda scared because if someone totals my car or crashes into me even if its not my fault im screwed and my car is basically gone.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? lol
