Default Nitrous w/ High Comp.

Im interested in running nitrous. My car is PI swapped so my comp. is about 10.5-1. Would it be safe?? Also how much is a nitrous kit?? And should i go wet or dry?

You could go either way really, dry would be more safe if you have stock parts. I run a 125 dry shot and have no problems. You really shouldnt go any higher than that and look for the ZEX kits, they are the safest around. You could be looking at anywhere from 450.00-700.00 depending on what you want with your kit. You will need to get a sct chip though so you can dyno tune it for when you are using and not using the nos.

use perimium fuel to help prevent detonation as well

I'm almost certain nitrous loves high compression motors, so you'll be a-ok. Be prepared to spend some change if you want to do nitrous the correct way. i.e., window switch, heater, gauges...

I would say wet kit... but thats me.. Then you dont have to worry about det. as much... I would go with a NX kit.. just look and ask around.. NX is supposedly the top of the line nitrous manufacturer right now.. But thats what ive read.. I run it on my car and absolutely love it. I wouldnt go any higher than a 125 shot like stated above, but you will need a tuner for programming.. also said above.

+1 also you will probably have to run a colder plug and retard timing..

let the honda kids play with the dry kits. A NX wet kit is the only way to go. High compression and spray is the way to go for max power. I would just retard your timing, get some new colder plugs and gap them at .35. if you can't retard your timing use race gas with you spray.

NX wet kit can be had for 499 shipped all day long.

NX gen x 2 kit has a bottle heater, pressure gauge, fuel pressure safety switch, bottle heater with thermomatic switch, and a purge. That can be purchased for 315 from the net.

I have a 96 GT with P.I swap.
forged flat top pistons 11:1 compression, bbk 255 lph fuel pump, 24 lb injectors, C&L 80mm MAS,MAC longtube headers, BBK hi-flow h-pipes, and 3.73's.
Anyways im wanting to squeeze also. i have a NX wet kit with WOT switch, just curious what size shot i could run safely.

well with that compression what you want to do is get the car on the dyno and see if you are seeing any knock.

With pump gas and around 17 degrees of total timing I would spray a 50-75 shot.

With any more than 17 degrees and the juice you will need race gas over 100 octane. Not 100, over 100.

With race gas and timing cintrolled you could spray 150 shot as long as you have good head gaskets and qrp head studs.

PS. install a bottle heater and window switch asap.
