Default Its coming together

Just got a phone call from my buddy who is doing the build on my car (cause I don't trust myself that much). He told me that everything was assembled over the weekend and today the car was put on the dyno for tuning (so it would run reasonably well) The car includes a MMR 1100 race block, patroit stage 3 heads and blower cams, and a turbonetics 81mm turbo. I was gonna go twin turbo, but prices for a new fuel system, and some suggested chasis stiffing (rollcage), made that impossible. The numbers the car put down are pathetic compared to what I was hoping for, but I was assured when the boost is turned up after break in for the motor that I'll have some more impressive numbers. Next the suspension is getting worked on which includes tokico dspec shocks and struts, plus a whole ****load of MM parts. The rearend is set to be rebuilt and a 3.55 gearing will be installed. Out back I have FR500 18x10s coming in with some 295 rubbers. From what I was told there are still alot of kinks to be worked out, but she should be down the track once or twice by late fall, or early spring of next year, before she undergoes some cosmetic surgery. Total cost right now is unreal for my poor ***, I've already spent at least twice what I paid for the car (Wifey is getting pissed especially since the car is not even in the same state as us). Oh well just figured I'd give everyone a heads up. Next year I'm gonna have to buy a digital camera or camcorder if I can afford one so I can start posting some vids of the street racing I intend on doing.

Congrats on all the progress. I think you should keep the racing to the track and off the streets.....IMO

Probably a good idea.

Numbers are at 398/412. My buddy says when it gets cranked up to 25psi numbers are gonna be in the low to mid 700s. I thought the current tune was done at 3 psi, but not quite sure thats right.

everything sounds nice except for one thing, with that much power to launch at the strip you will need slicks anyway so why not go with 4.10 or 4.30 gears?

Turbos like a numerically lower rear gear ratio, like 3.55 or 3.27, even 3.08s would make that car pull like an insane bastard in the higher rpms.

Bingo!! I will probably buy a set of DR for the strip, but I really won't be doing too much racing, I can't afford to fix all the crap that can go wrong with constant use.

GOod luck, DRs arent even gonna help you. Need slicks and a sick *** drag suspension for anything reselmbing traction
