I plan on "making" a 96-98 Mustang and swaping the engine for a newer one low mileage one with more power..I've read that it was pretty much a straight swap...what would be the best swap for the money and what type of times should I expect from it? and Should I spend the extra money for a gt that I'm just going to swap the 8 cyl out or could I buy a 6cyl and save some money?

You should be able to get an engine for 400-500 bucks.
