First of all. When you remove the air silencer all your doing in sucking in all the hot air from your engine bay. Its a good way to actually LOOSE power. Second of all the did a test on K&N's on several vehicles and not ONE single vehicle showed 1 hp increase. The only thing about K&N is you can clean them. They dont give you more power. Even though their ads say you do. THe problem about the stock intake is its riged. It has all those bumps that slow down air. It makes for terrible flow and for almost the price of a stupid K&N you can buy a fenderwell (the only way to go) CAI on ebay.

One thing positive I can say about the K&N filter is that it really does help out on gas. Second, after installing it, I realized how restrictive the stock air filter was. My car just felt better and sounded less congested. It definitely freed up some air that was being held back from the stock filter.

if you have a couple hundy, get gears. I know that 50 to a couple hundy is a big jump, but get something that will give you a noticeable return for your money. I think a cai is about a waste of money, and yes i bought one too.

I have a BBK CAI. I really didn't notice a difference in hp. It just sounds better and has a whistle to it now.

yeah I have been looking at the gears. The easiest fix looks to me like it might be underdrive pulleys. I am still doing my research. I will prob for now just get the K&N air filter. Save a little and then do the gears and underdrive pulleys. After that I think it would be time for exhaust. Then who knows maybe ill get the CAI (for the looks at least) haha.

This site is great and you guys are very helpful. I am truly a Mustang lover 4 life now.
