Default Help! tranny problems AGAIN!

i have an 04 gt with 22k miles on it and i've already had 3rd gear synchro's go out on me and then 3rd gear totally went out.......i had ford rebuild the tranny under warranty and then 2 weeks later i'm down shifting from 5th to 4th and it felt like it only went about half way into gear but when i let go of the clutch it was still in 5th gear.......i tried to get the shifter to move outta 4th but no luck wouldn't budge......the shifter is in the neutral postion but the tranny is still in 5th gear.......what could have happened.......the tranny felt really tight after i got it out of the shop and some times if i was gettin on it in first gear it wouldn't go into second or it was really hard to get into gear........i'm takin it back to ford, but is this something i did or is this something they messed up on when they rebuilt it......

Do you have an aftermarket shifter? Check the fluid level in there maybe ford forgot to put it in. If you still have a warranty take it back.

well.... a shift fork probably broke, or wasn't put in right.

Take it back to the ford geniuses

It does sound like a broken fork, bring it back to Ford and tell the idiots to perform TSB 04-15-6 on the trans which is another rebuild but with better parts and stronger forks. From what I read your still under warranty so its a freebee, good luck.

Either way its not your fault...just take it back and complain a lot and try and get free stuff out of them.
