my budget is 12,000. but im trying to keep it under 10,000. the 96 cobra has 56,000mi on it and is 10,000. and the gts are all cheaper. pi? what exactly is that/does that mean. sorry, im more of a 5.0 guy, dont know as much about these 4.6s.

 

PI is performance improved which is the heads and intake the 99+ 4.6s have. 96 and 97 gts have 215hp and 98s have 225, the PI 99+ gt's have 260hp. So if you can go with the cobra or a 99 and up GT, youll be happy you did.

 

Get a 2001 Cobra... if you get a GT get a 99-2004 differance is the flow of the heads...

if i had 10k i would pick up a 94-95 gt for a couple thousand and put the rest into the motor, can make a hell of a beast for 5k

 

well no, i dont actually have 10000 cash in hand to pay out, but have about 4000 to put down, and am ok w. financing up to 8000.

 

well bein a 302 guy you know that its hard to walk to your mailbox without tripping on a cam or heads for it, the 5.0 is alot cheaper to build up quick and easier to work on, im in the process of finding a 94-95 to build up, not gonna put in a ton of money into this 4.6, just not worth it,

 

I would either get a fox 5.0 or a new edge.. i'd stay away from those non pi engines like the plague. If you can find a good 01' Cobra i'd go that route, and you can find em. If not, I was always a sucker for the 93' Cobra.
