Default its rough!

in drive, my car has a shake, and an inconsitent knocking sound, in reverse, its very smooth.

would you guess my exhaust is hitting something, or....a worn/broken motor mount...or tranny mount. :/

if it was either of those, i would assume the problem would be in both drive and reverse, at idle.

i could be wrong?

I'll disagree with both of the above suggestions. A dead cly or a bad coil would always cause the problem not just in drive.

Does it only do it at a certian speed? If so could be your harmonic balancer or your flywheel, which would be the reason it only does it in drive.

well i just messed around w/ my exhaust. when shaking from side to side i heard a knock up front.. couldnt find what exactly was making contact...so i looseneed up the driver side, jacked up the muffler a lil, and re-tightened. seems to have gone away? time will tell...if so, code was right! he mentioned it could be my exhaust, in chat last night.

off topic, sorda. i have the mac adjustable tips, and the bolt and nut that go into a sliding bracket, for teh tip, are free spinning, i cant loosen or tighten it. so it allows the driver side exhaust to wobble more. any tips to get that bolt off? i just sprayed it w/ pb plaster hoping it will help.

I have a mac cat back and had to weld the tips in place. I just lined it all up straight and put a few welds here and there and it stays perfect.
