Every exhaust system has its fans and detractors -- listen to some and pick the one YOU like, don't listen to all of us idiots.

For what it's worth -- I have Flowmaster Super 40s and a MAC OR H-pipe. The Super 40s drone less than the regular 40 series -- only at about 2000-2100rpm. And it's not annoying at all. Besides you can just speed up/slow down to make it go away. And I have NEVER, not even once, had someone come up to me and say "Oh my God, your exhaust sounds terrible." In fact EVERYONE who has any comment at all says it sounds great -- even the Bowtie crowd. The only possible downside is that the Riceboys don't pull up next to me and rev anymore. (But that's kind of a plus in my book.)

Borlas makes a fantastic product (I've had 'em on other cars) and they sound great, but in my opinion, the old school muscle sound is what belongs with Mustangs. And nothing is old school muscle like Flowmasters.

Money Is no issue for me, and I went with Flow 40's with BBK long tubes, BBK catted h pipes, and turn downs (I kept the v6 bumper on). It sounds EXACTLY like how I envision a musle car should sound like. Deep, mean, pure sex! I even have the Roush side exit exhaust kit (Magnaflows) that I ordered 2 months ago, but I love the Flows so much, I never put them on.
I couldnt AGREE MORE! The sound of a True Performance car. Not some Mustang trying to sound like an "exotic import"!! for those people who dont like drone.....what does your exhaust all of a sudden quit making noise when you drive on cruise????? Im sure EVERY MUSCLE car back in the day, didnt sound like a honda. The only sound that i like better than a mustang with Flows is maybe a Nextel Cup car, and they dont have mufflers....

Those ones that everybody says that people with flowmaster cant "afford" All the sound clips i ever heard with the "other brand" (i.e. non-flowmaster) all have that rice crispy sound (snap, crackle, and pop) I heard a Mach 1 the other day and when he let off of it, it sounded like little firecrackers going off.........Just like an import. If you ask me, you kind of have to break a flowmaster in. they sound better after youve had them on for a little bit. Nobody may care, but heres what i think about the other companies as far as exhaust....

Flowmaster: The origional sound of the 5.0. You can hear a Mustang coming down the road with that deep drone, and KNOW that it is Flowmasters.
Bassani: Good High-Quality exhaust system. Dont own one, but cant see spending 3X the money for the same performance.
Magnaflow: The quietest of the "ricer" exhaust
SLP: The loudest of the ricer exhaust and sounds nothing like a mustang should especially when paired with big a$$ tips
Borla: OE on the 2000 Cobra R. Been told that thier exhaust has the biggest pickup in HP over the rest. Has that crackle sound under deceleration also.

OVERALL: Except for Flowmasters, none of them have a CRISP, DEEP, Muscular sound. For those that dont like the drone....Just pop in your little Ipod and listen to your favorite Justin Timberlake beat as you cruise to the mall looking for the tightest Polo shirt that you can squeez into! LOL Hey and dont forget those HUGE sunglasses to top off your look!

well, based on your response, there isnt reall any way that anyone is gonna be able to talk with you,, you have your views, adn they wont change

as for the cackling/popping upon deceleration,, aside from LM I's, that is stricly an o/r attribute

and if you think flowmaster is the only deep clean muscular sound, then youve got a one track mind

im not calling you out or trying to start anything, it just seems to me you are very close-minded and won't accept anything except the most common sound on nearly every car/truck, whichis flowmaster

that is where i think we differ on opinions

you can have ANY exhaust, and someone will come up and ask "is that flowmaster" because its the only one they've ever heard of

ive had people on the internet make fun of my exhaust, calling it "POORla" because its cheap... think they have ANY idea what borla is? lol.. nope
