Exhaust Tone
What kinda sound/tone/loudness am I lookin at with a 98 Cobra with Bassani X-pipe with high flow cats, and Borla Cat-back Exhaust.. stock headers. I know it won't be real loud.. but anyone got an idea?
I think that would be a sweet sounding combo. Borlas are one of my favorites on our cars. It probably wont be terribly loud, but it wont be quiet either. Ive only heard one borla in person, it was moderately loud and deep up to about 3k rpm's then it got loud and sounded that much better
Try going to www.mustangexhaust.com they have lots of sound clips of different setups, you might find the one your looking for there.

The thing about Borla, with a 'pre-1999' model, is that they do not offer the Stinger catback, which is the straight through, louder (and more popular) catback for our cars.
I do believe that they sell the mufflers individually, however I am never able to remember which ones they are referred to as on their site.
If I may make a suggestion, consider a different combination.
I do not know if you already purchased the Bassanni midpipe, but if you have not, think about purchasing a slightly less exspensive midpipe, and going with a Bassanni catback for your Cobra.
I've heard many good things about VRS x pipes, though I dont have any experiance with them myself. But there are MANY people who love their bassanni catback. It will (my guess) probably sound better than the regular chambered Borla mufflers, and since the regular chambered Borla catback is more exspensive than the "stingers' I would guess the price of them would be similar to the Bassanni catback.
Just my thoughts, good luck though. Let us know what you decide to do.
