Default auto to 5 speed

my buddy has the exact same car as me but black and mines red and his is stick mines autothe other night drunk driver slammed the back side of him totaled it out but motor and tranny still good and i was wondering if it would be worth it to swap his 5 speed to mine and how hard would it be?? thanks by the way i bought the car from tha insurance company for 500 bucks!!!!!!!

its alot of work, most would say just sell yours and buy a 5spd car.

Is it really that hard to change out a transmission? I ask because I honestly dont know.

well if he has a donor car it will be hard but everything he needs is right there...I mean all he's doing is unbolting one to put in the other....The shifter locations are the same and I'm guesing he shouldn't have to cut a larger opening for his shifter so what else would this entail?
While it was apart I'd put in a beefier clutch, flywheel, and such

I asked this same question about 3 months ago and got about the same reaction. I really didn't think I could sell my car just to get a manual. Well, I did with my next purchase to be a cobra. But since you have a donor car, you have a at least a leg up on most people that try this. It can be done, but it does take awhile. But if you really want to keep your car and just do a swap, then go for it. Its just easier to change cars and thats why most everyone will say that.

DO IT!! my friend just swaped out his auto from his 5.0 to a t-5 and wow wat a difference now i honestly dont know about the sn-95 but on the fox body it was a straight swap plug and play!!
