Ok, so I am driving off the expressway in my 1998 GT and i push down on the clutch and all of a sudden it I hear a pop and it goes all the way down to the floor. After the pop, the car wouldn't go into gear unless it was shut off. I could press down the clutch, but it was stuck in neutral when the car was turned on. The clutch does feel like it is easier to press. I am not sure what happened but if someone has any ideas, it would be great if you could help out. Thanks.

 

i dunno when the car is off you dont need to push in the clutch to change gears maybe your clutch cable snapped i have never ever heard of that before that would be crazy if it did well hope it is only that becuase its cheaper than a whole new clutch

 

sounds like a broken/stretched clutch cable get under the dash and check it by the quadrant thats where mine stretched its an easy fix and hope thats what it is cus its cheap lol!

ahh man i hope not for your sake maybe just the rubber grommet on the firewall broke or whatnot and the cable was on bare metal and finally gave out keep us posted and goodluck
