ORIGINAL: korn253 nitrous its self is non-combustible, but it breaks down into nitrogen and 02, 02 makes everything extremly combustible though. thats y nitrous works, it allows u to burn more fuel. so im not sure how u get a fire started from nitrous, but if u try to just like light the gas it wont do ne thing, it will probably blow the flame out. The nitrous has to be heated up to a certain temp for it to break down into pure oxygen, so if that happens and u have a nitrous leak around a combustable material and u have a spark or something then u will have a fire, but thats something that wont happen very often. this link will explain the properties on n20 a little better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrous...bustion_engine |
