Default Subframes?

How "flexy" are the 02-04 GT's I heard a long time ago about subframes coming standard starting in 99' from the factory??? How do these cars compare to F-bodies for rigidity? Any empirical data (degree deflection under XXXXX # torsion, ect would be AWESOME!)

I just put full length subs on my 04 and it makes less "squeaky, clunky" noises when I drive it.It never was bad but it's quieter now.I did quite a bit of research before I bought mine and decided that it was a worthwhile mod to start toward improving the handling of the car.I also was looking to the lifetime of the car and I didn't want it to start making noises as it gets older.(I promised Mrs.Chopper that I would NEVER ask for a new car again)
I say full length subframe connectors are a good modification.Mine were from Steeda.I was torn between Steeda and Maximum Motorsports but went with the Steeda parts because they require less welding.

Sub frames come standard on verts only. Full length weld ins make a big difference IMO. I had my mechanic weld mine in. its a pretty simple job but he was under there doing my exhaust so i had him slap um up.

Subframes, as far as I know, were only standard on 03-04 Mach 1's. The Convertibles do have extra structural support, but not technically subframes. It's one of those mods that every Mustang that is raced should have. I know that my 109k mile doors shut better than a 22k mile Cobra because the Cobra was raced without subframes for so long, while mine was babied (until I got ahold of it, that is) Mustangs launch well; that puts a lot of strain on the unibody. It's definately a mod to do; it reduces chassis flex, and as a bonus it does make the car more responsive because it's actually turning instead of flexing.

Does the carpet need to be removed before the full lengths are welded in?

My tech removed mine when he put in mine on the 5.0,but we did a LOT of stuff to the car and the carpet was out anyways. I think he said it did, but again, thats on a fox.
