Dude, 95% of folks here will preach the LT sermon and condemn you to hell for even thinking about shorties.

I'm not one of those people. Shorties are better than stock by far, and almost as fun to put on. If you get them, get the Jet Hot coated version if you can. www.dugan-racing.com has them for $335 I believe. If you know of a place to get them cheaper, share the love, brother.

you can install shorties yourself . it will be easier if you raise the engine a few inches . I'd go w/ BBK tuned shorties over FRPP's . BBK's will be alittle harder to put on but its not that bad . I installed some on a friends ride and it took about 5 hours . the hardest part w/ the BBK's is tightening the bolts .

Just went through this. Labor to install is 7+hours (book time) plus an alignment afterwards. Most people who do it themselves spend 10+ hours.

Shortie headers do nothing for power. Save up and go with long tubes. I gained nothing with shorties, and then i got long tubes, and gained 35ftlbs.

my engines out of the car right now i am doing a swap and would hate to put back on the stock mani's but i am FI as far as im concrned and have been told shortys will be 100% fine and i will see a decent gain its common sense yes you will gain hp from shortes MAYBE not as much on a bone stock car as you would on a cammed car but once you start sucking in more air you have to find some way to get it out better i have a blower and will be pushing 15+ psi with cams and need something ,i am not going to buy a new h-pipe to go with LT's becuase simply put i am broke now lol so i was basically asking if i can pick up a set of ford racing shorties new in the box for a 100 bucks would it be worth it??? and as far as the bbk's goes THR has a ebaystore and they have then buy it now for 294.99 shipped and that includes their one time 9.99 charge (its their way to keep shipping free they say)
