Default Guys with 4.10s

I have a 1999 GT and I wanted to get some gears. I'm not sure if I should go with 3.73s or 4.10s. This is the reason why: According to the gear calculator, I would have to shift into 3rd before I would hit 60 mph. Is this accurate?

Thanks,
Ben

that sounds about right. my 95 f 250 has 4.10s and i shift from 3rd to 4th at about 40 mph. granted a truck might be a little different but you get the idea.

It's something like this:

1st gear: 0-30mph
2nd gear: 30-55mph
3rd gear: 55-80mph
4th gear: 80-105mph
5th gear: 105-150mph

This is obviously at WOT until 5500 RPM (Safe but close to redline shift point)

Thanks for the input guys. As it stands now my stock looks like this:
1st Gear: 0-40
2nd Gear:40-65
3rd Gear:65-95
4th Gear:95-125
5th Gear:125+

Even with 3.90, I will still have to shift to 3rd at around 55 instead of 50 with 4.10s.

Am I making too big a deal out of this or what? [sm=sigh.gif]

If you want performance from your car you gotta do it. It makes your car feel that much faster. My friend who drove my car, and then test drove a mach1 told me my car felt faster. The gears will just give you that pinned to the seat feeling.
