Oh god...I'm probably going to get flamed for asking such a lame question but I've already asked so much I figure I can't incriminate myself any worse. [&:]

Second mod I get on my automatic is going to be 3.73 gears. I have a warrenty on my transmission, getting new gears will not void it right?....

It won't... but they will try to tell you it will. Rear end gear changes should not effect the transmission at all.

WTF??? You serious???

Your trans. is working faster than it should to maintain highway speeds. It will MOST DEFFINATELY effect any warranty claim you try to file with your trans.

No changes you make to your car will void the warranty unless the change can be directly blamed for the problem.

Changing the rear end gears will only affect the warranty on the rear axle where the work was peformed.

I agree that a gear change really has no detrimental affect on your trans but some shops will look for a reason to refuse warranty and some may argue that the gears are the culprit.
It is up to you to then fight it with little chance of winning, especially if you did not buy FRPP gears and get them installed at your dealer.

Some shops may not even notice different gears. If they do ask just act dumb......never admit to anything and incriminate yourself

it will effect the warrenty, so if you do it do it right with 4.10s

yeah i have had warranty companies say an exhaust voids it. i just tell them the dealer sold it to me like this, and play dumb. most of the time they don't catch this kind of crap unless they know a thing or too. and most second hand warranty companies just send a guy out just to make sure something is really broken if it is over a certain amount the dealer/garage couldn't give 2 ***** if you have stuff done all long as they get their money and a cool garage wont say anything to a warranty company. I have an audi with no cats and i got the o2 sensors covered. they went bad faster becuase i didn't have any cats. so i should be good for another 20k miles. warranty companies are here so they don't have to pay out anything. just play dumb. It works trust me. nothing to worry about. unless you have performance stickers on your car. Then you should be slapped unless you are making 600whp+ then you can do what ever the f you want.
oyeah i had a 94 mustang gt with 3.73 gears and had cottman transmission rebuild my auto tranny (2 years ago) and they put a shift kit in the car for me and they gave me a warrany with the rebuild. + we got talking about how much power the tranny could hold, i think i was around 350-400 crank hp. they didn't care So i guess it is just who you go to. + i broke the tranny and they fixed it under warranty twice. lol damb over drive band

they will void it, but they will not know the gears are there unless they open up your differential! so just put some 4.10's in there and don't worry about it.

I thought if you get FRPP gears, it wouldn't.
