Default engine rpms increase

I very recently had a 70mm throttlebody and plenum installed plus had it custom tuned with an SCT Excalibrator2. One thing that happens on an intermittant basis after the engine has warmed up is when I push in the clutch and my foot is off the gas pedal, the engine revs up to about 1800 - 1900 rpms. It drops right back down when I put it in gear or if I don't put it in gear right away, it'll drop down back to normal in a few seconds. Has anybody experienced this and if so, what was your resolution? As always, thanks for your feedback, it is always helpful.

You might try resetting your ECU (unplug the battery for 20 min and then reconnect). I have a friend who put an intake on an 04 GTO w/o disconnection the battery, and he had the same problem. I think the computer may have to just recalibrate for the increased air flow. Try it and let us know if it works or not.

Or, if that doesn't do anything, check your TPS connection/adjustment if you can..

Or, check your Throttle cable isn't catching on anything...

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that this weekend. I am assuming that because there is a custom tune in the car's computer now (the stock tune is on my Excalibrator2 unit) the computer will reset to the custom tune. Am I assuming correctly? Can you tell I'm not a mechanic? I just want to make sure I don't screw up my car.

I'll check those two suggestions also, they seem simple enough. Thanks.

Also you might want to check the TPS voltage and set it to .98 just a suggestion.

Hey Eventer289!

On Saturday morning, I tried your suggestion of disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes so the computer can reset itself. I did some driving Saturday and a ton of driving yesterday doing a bunch of errands plus the drive into work this morning and so far, I haven't had that problem. So far it seems to have worked. Thanks again and thank you to everyone who responded.
