Default Garaging preperation

I just bought my 2000 GT about 2 1/2 weeks ago. At the end of November I will be putting her in the garage and will be driving my daily driver through the winter.

What sort of things should I do to prepare her to sit for the winter? I will do the obvious end of season cleaning and detailing but what should I do mechanically to keep her running good?

Any info is great.

Thanks
jmac

full tank of gas, maybe with some fuel stabilizer? Give your tires a couple extra psi over normal... just to name a few

you could do the full tank with the stabilizer or you could just leave it mostly empty and then drain it at the end when you wanna drive it. Another thing i heard is that you can take out the injectors too so that they don't clog or corrode. my buddy had that happen to him after a 6 month deployment.

There's a lot of stuff you should do. Remove your battery and give it a trickle charger, meticulously clean the inside to avoid attracting critters. Put some baking soda in a bowl to absorb the moisture. If parking in a cement storage facility, put a plastic barrier on the ground to avoid moisture coming up and hitting the underside of your car. Stuff steel wool in your tail-pipes to prevent critters from making a home.

And finally, I'd probably line the outside perimeter of your car with some sort of rodent repelent.

You can find a lot of other things to do if you google 'car winterization'

I put a vinyl mat under mine and keep the gas tank full. I`ll start it every 2 weeks and let it run for about 20 minutes or untill it fully warms up. If the roads are clean and dry, then i`ll take it out for a drive. (I also have a heated garage )

Fill the tank with gas so it does not RUST on the inside. and get some fuel stabilizer.
I put dryer sheets in the interior also. Keeps the critters away and keeps the car smelling good.
Also remember If your gonna run your car at all during storage you want to run it long enough to get all the condensation out of the inside of the exhaust. Running it for a couple of minutes and than shutting it off will also make your exhaust rust from the inside.

I am just going to be storing it in my garage at my house. I will use some of that gas stuff and start it weekly or bi weekly. I will do the dryer sheets thing too. Thanks for all the info. Would a car cover be a good move too although it is inside?
