Default Dead Spot

Hello im new to the forum but not to the mustangs i had a 98 GT. But anyway to the point. I now have a 02 Mustang GT I just got like a week ago. When i start in first gear and really get on it then shift into sencond hard staying on it the engine starts out strong but it finds a dead spot for a second then contines up the rpm's. What do you think this could be? I was thinking some kind of sensor or something. I have a little knowledge on motors but mainly the old easy ones i dont understand to much of the computered ones. Please help

Well I'm not sure if this is it, but it could be just a cold engine. My car does that when its cold, but when it gets to regular temperature it doesnt.

I might of found the problem. I was reading on here about the traction control and people were saying with it on and racing it can cut off fuel. What do you think anyone?

When the traction control kicks in its diagram will light up in your dash (a green wheel). With your car being a 02 you should be able to disengage your traction control.

if you have TC on, and u spin ur tires, it cuts fuel and applys the brakes or something like that. take it off and u should have no problems. it also might be ur spark plugs, a bad plug can cause it to studder. u shouldnt be hard on ur car when it is cold

You shouldnt be hard on it when its cold outside or when the car itself is cold?

when the car is cold itself. if it is 100degress outside and ur car is cold, drive it normal, shift earlier. everthing is trying to warm up. ur trans, oil, all that stuff
