Default Radar Detectors

Anybody who has one or knows something about them I have a few questions. Do they actually work well? What is the best one? How much does it usually cost? Does it only pick up on the police signals or does it pick up on other signal also?

My cousin has one, it seem to work pretty well, the only other thing that will set off the radar detector is when people unlock their cars with a keyless entry control pad, but that's only a problem when you are cruising around Target or other stores with big parking lots.

I am pretty sure that that's from the keyless entry.

i have a passport 8500 X50 and it has worked really well for me. you can progrm it to not pick up all the store alarms and keyless entry stuff. its picked up highway patrols over two hills about 1 mile or so away before i could ever see them. it cost me around 350$ but it got the best ratings in all the car magazines and itll end up saving you alot in insurance if you get a ticket

Get a Valentine 1.$400 They are the best I have ever used. The directional arrows are a surprisingly useful feature. If you do get a false alarm the arrow will point to the source as you pass and you know it is a false alarm. This company is a stand up outfit also.I ordered the upgrade and I got it in the mail the NEXT day ,no overnite or any extra charges. There is no way they recieved my old one that fast. They exchange your old unit for a new one(whether it works or not, mine didn't)for $200.With all available upgrades.
