any pointers on how to time the 4.6 2v

What do you mean by time, the cam timing or ignition?

The cam timing shoud be left alone on a stock GT.

The ignition is DIS so the only way to mess with it is to use a POS timing adjuster or a handheld tuner.

buy either a Handheld tuner or a steeda timing adjuster. make sure you use Premium gas if you advance it or run a tune off a programmer
