Talk to Brian or Bob at Texas Hot Rods. Brian expecially (he is the owner) he can tell you everythying you need to know. I can't think of the new ones he has been selling, but they have been out performing the patriot cams. (877)50-STANG

cams on a NPI car with the stock heads/intake is going to be a waste of time IMO.

save up some more cash and do a NPI swap with some aftermarket cams. On the stock unported NPI heads you will be lucky to see a few whp.

PI cams and PI intake (on the stock unported heads) will give you some nice gains. Not a waste of money, especially since you could probably get used PI cams and intake for a couple hundred bucks at the most.

Go blower with VT Blower Cams and Stage II heads. Then you will see some REAL power gains.

I have heard way to many horror stories about patriot to consider going with their heads.

We are a bit off price range here, the guy asked about some cams, not putting a blower on with a built engine

The gains are still going to be fairly minimal until he can replace the NPI heads either way. I don't agree that the only way to go is aftermarket heads (none of them really flow THAT well, and the stock heads are capable of 600+ with the correct setup) but he should definatly at least setup to some PI ones before doing much to the car.

you might want to get book building a 4.6/5.4 on dyno i just got it and it gives some GREAT comparisons on cams with your engine...
so far from what i read it in, have a cam that matches you heads/ mode of driving (daily driving and your RPM band) bigger doesnt always mean better because the 2v can only flow so much =/ reguardless of how much duration and lift you want it can only suck/exhaust so much air.
