Default CHECK ENGINE CODE - HELP PLEASE

On my beater, 96 Ford Escort I'm getting the error code 715 come up which is Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction. What does that mean???? What needs to be done?, thanks!!!

There is a malfunction with the direct clutch input speed sensor or it's circuit, the computer compares this input signal with the number two speed sensor and so controls the shifting of the transmission, the most likely cause is that the speed sensor is the fault > so says google
