FOUND SOMETHING INTERESTING TODAY!!!
I just got my GT about 2 weeks ago and its the first GT- 5speed ive ever driven so i didnt know anything about them. today i took apart the center console to fix the vent above the radio and i took the boot off the shifter and it said ROUSH on it. Could this be just the ROUSH handle or would it be the actual short throw roush shifter that costs $260 bucks on the roush site. My car is a 2002 by the way, and on the left side of the shifter it says ROUSH and the right side says FORGED. thanks for any info. i was goin to by the steeda tri-ax but i guess i dont have to now.
Lucky... only thing I found was an old Mcdonalds french fry.
You probably just have a handle. If you take off the dust boot you would be able to find out if you have a shifter or not.

see, i thought it would be just the handle too, but why would the previous owner change just the handle when you cant even see it? how could i tell if its a short throw since i dont even know what the stock one looks like?
I was hungry.... and Mcdonalds french fries take FOREVER to decompose.

thanks for your info, the whole handle is aluminum, there is no black. so maybe i do have the roush short throw? if so, is this a good one or should i go ahead and get the steeda tri-ax i was goin to get?

It's okay. The Roush GT's shifter felt like a short throw. I believe my MGW is the best shifter out there.
if you ever wanna get rid of the roush, don't get tri-ax. I've heard many people are disappointed with them (with an exception of a few), but most LOVE MGW. go for that, but roush should be good. keep it.
