Default Control Arms question

Ok, so I want to get new control arms but is it ok to just replace the rear lower control arms? I want to do the upper ones as well but I'm on a fixed budget so I'm wondering if I can just install the lower ones separate? Also, how hard are they to replace? Thanks in advance!

not that hard to do at all, after doing it twice now I can swap mine out with just jack stands, two jacks, all by myslef in about an hour. You can replace just your lowers but I would look into the granatelli Upper/lower combo, or UPR (what I have) Chrome moly upper and lower kit- they are both around 200ish for uppers and lowers!

ok cool, that sounds good...did you notice better traction afterwards? Were they worth it?

I replace upper and lowers on my GT. Well worth the money. Improved launches and better handling.

Aye...Ebay has a set of Granatelli's, u/l'ers for $150ish.

I've got a related very noob question...can the ca's be replaced without removing the springs and struts? I'm gonna have to hire someone for the springs and shocks/struts, I'm guessing it would be best to wait until I buy everything (shocks, struts, springs, ca's, subframes) and have it all done at once.

You will need to remove the springs to replace the lower control arms, that is what the springs sit on.

I have heard MANY mixed opinions about the Granatellis, either they love them, or they hate them because there are a lot of people that have had them fail on them, while a lot of them haved worked perfectly. When I had my GT, I got some aluminum LCA from Steeda. Personally, I like Steeda for suspension. I had the Aluminum ones, and my 60" went from a 2.2 to a 2.0, and my friends with the steel ones (who has more track practice them me [&:]) went from a mid 2.0 to a low 1.9 - that was just with the lca...

To the upper/lower control arm upgrades work well with stock type rear tires? Or are they better suited once I have drag radials?

I was thinking about getting them so I could get off the line better
