here ya go you lazy bastard...

There are a couple of different ways to install it.. the first way is very clean and includes some steps that you don't really need to do but it's there for you anyway...

Steeda Bat Relocation kit
UPR Bat relocation kit

you will just have to psyche yourself up to use Google for the diy on how to build your own..

these kits are kind of expensive. Ive already got 4gauge wire running from my trunk to the engine compartment for my subs. Could I get the battery box, skip the install kit and use the 4gauge wire that ive already got in there to run from the battery to the engine, then buy a napa ground wire and the smaller odds n ends?

you may want to get someone else to chime in on this to confirm but it sould like it would work to me.. and I do know that places do sell just the box.. it's still expensive (steeda sells just the box for 130.00) but cheaper then the whole kit.

I was searching lastnight and found a box for under 100 bucks, dont remember the exact price I think it was around 60 though. UPR has the whole kit for 150 which isnt too bad, but I dont want to waste money on wiring if what I have is good enough.

Well, I think you will be ok doing your idea of just getting the pieces that you need instead of the whole kit.. but I just bought the UPR kit and followed the instructions so I'm no expert. So you may want to get a couple more opinions before you start......

How do you like the quality of the UPR stuff? Was there a noticable improvement in traction or handling after you relocated it? Ive read the advertisements about the 60lbs over the rear wheel etc, but they're just that, advertisments. Is this really a worth-while thing?

In doing that you also have a weight penalty from the added cabling but that’s not too big of a deal, I have not yet done it but I am looking into it for my car this winter

I bought the crappy kit from summit. All I wanted was the cable anyway. I have an Optima battery and it's notch not a hatch so I don't need a bat box. I bought a bad *** custom billit hold down to complete the installation. I like the way it came out and have had no hassles from the tech guys at the track.

What about venting issues? Just get a sealed battery like an Optima and not worry about it?
