1998 GT Test Drive
O.K. I am about to buy a 1998 Gt Auto in the morning. Today i test drove it. It looks to be all stock from filter to the cat-back. It's got 100k and The carfax came back clean with only 1 owner. It's a nice car but I am confused because I can punch it from a dead stop and light the rear up without a problem and my 96 couldn't do that. My 96 gt had 65k on it and it was stock. This 98 feels faster even when rolling. I know that 98's are suppose to have 10 more hp. But that shouldn't be noticable. The only other difference could be tires my 96 had hancook K106 225/55/16 and the 98 got 245/45/17 toyo proxes.
Anyway I just wanted to know could the tires be it or was there a 3.27 gear option in 1998. Becasue I know the gears can't be over 3.55's.
Thanks.
And by the way I can pull unlimited carfax reports until 12/23/2006

Everyone bitches about miles and they don't give a thought to how the car was driven.
IMO a 1 owner stock GT with 100,000 miles > mildly modded GT with 60,000 miles.

k i didnt mean anything by that i was just asking...bcuz u better be getting a good price...funny hw u think a stock gt with 100k miles is prolly in better condition than a modded gt with 60k..how do u know the guy that modded th car beat the car all the time..the car wth 100k miles could be owned by a teenager who cant afford mods but abuses the **** out of it son.
