Default s351

THis is probably a dumb question. i used my powers of deduction to figure that the 281 in s281 refered to the saleen engine. Then i saw the 1997 s351
with a 5.8. Wasn't the mustang on modular engines by then so wouldn't it be easier to switch in a 5.4 (more power also?). Is it true that it is easier to
exhange a 4.6 with a 5.4 instead of a 5.8, like the cobra R?

no... both would be an equal pain in the ***, just one costs more...

word to the wise... unless you loaded there is no point in a 5.4 5.8 swap... for the money minded - forced induction 4.6 will take you as fast as you want to go

Saleen continued to install 351 supercharged pushrod engines in the S351 until atleast 99 that i can remember. I would love to find one in good shape at a good price, was always one of my favorite cars. Swapping from a modular to a pushrod is a PITA because you have to change everything. You are better off starting with a 94-95 if you want to go with a 5.8 or bigger.

so it is easier to go from 5.0 pushrod to 5.8 pushrod, and 4.6 OHC to 5.4 OHC right. And the 5.4 is capable of more power, right?
