Blower Likes Cold Weather ?
Anyone notice that their car runs much better in the cold weather?
Nothing else changed but not my car runs much better and the blower sounds a bit different ?
Maybe its the I/C working better since the air is colder.
Just noticed it the past day or two...

Yeppers....My Lightning LOVES cold weather!!!! Cooler temps and colder air is denser air (moving more air than at summer temps).
I can go from a 13.2 in the Summer to a 12.8 in the Fall

Last winter in Tampa when a cold front passed and it dropped into the low 40's, I went from 6 lbs of boost in normal summer conditions to just over 8lbs in the cooler air. Cooler the air, better internal combustion.

If anyone ever watches a NASCAR broadcast... then you would hear this topic almost every race. Cooler weather does allow for cars to make better horsepower. That why you see those guys qualify especially on the days when it starts in the daylight and ends in the nighttime... they will wanna try to get as late a draw as they can cause they know that speeds will be up then. Although for them, cooler air also equals more grip on the track as well.

Those with AFR guages will notice a change in their ratio during cooler weather (or even dry weather) relative to hot/humid weather without changing anything. That's why it is important to not go to lean with the tune in the warmer months as you'll be even leaner during cool mornings or during the cooler seasons. It may not be a big deal for the weekend warriors but us DD guys need to keep that in mind.
